Leadership Expert – Tuti Scott
Tuti B. Scott is President and Founder of Imagine Philanthropy, an international consulting firm that supports philanthropists in building effective giving strategies and guides organizations and nonprofit leaders seeking to enhance and energize their work.
During her 15-year tenure at the Women’s Sports Foundation, Tuti raised more than $70 million while marketing sports and health as a “cause” benefiting the development of society as well as engaging thousands of people and donor activists in the mission and programs of the organization.
Her work in women’s funding and public policy has elevated the conversation about sports, social change, and gender equity for women in the global philanthropic arena. The results of decades of work in this space has elevated sports competition and leadership for women and girls as critical developmental experiences. After a successful ten-year fundraising effort led by Tuti, the Billie Jean King International Center for Women’s Sports opened in May of 2008 in New York City as part of the Sports Museum of America.
Tuti is a certified fundraiser (CFRE from the Association of Fundraising Professionals) and serves on the Board of Directors of Women Win and on the Athletics and Events Capital Campaign Committee at Ithaca College. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She lectures and presents internationally about social change, leadership, sports philanthropy, fundraising and marketing.
Prior to her work at the Women’s Sports Foundation, Tuti worked as a health and finance administrator at the Amherst Chiropractic Center, as membership director at the Women’s Sports Foundation in the United Kingdom, and as a personal trainer and basketball coach.
She has been a point guard her entire life and enjoys the role of building and changing tempo, sharing the ball, and making people look good. Current sports include cross country skate skiing, yoga, cycling and power walks with friends.
